About the Film
The introverted high school girl Masha sees herself as an outsider unless she hangs around with Yana and Senia, who share her non-conformist status. While she is trying to navigate through an intense time of the pre-graduation year, Masha falls in love, and her growing pains get even more intense.
Debutant Ukrainian director Kateryna Gornostai presents a deeply personal story about self-discovery and the patience it requires. Winner of the Best Film Award at the Generation 14+ section of the 2021 Berlin Film Festival, Stop-Zemlia is a coming-of-age story that reflects the future anxieties of the young people of Ukraine and the tense atmosphere of their lives.
