About the Film
After the misery of a painful divorce and unemployment, Selim, in his mid-thirties, moves back with his upper middle-class family in İzmir. The reunion with his family and his old friends does not seem to have pleased him. He begins to spend time with the idler Cihan, who claims to be his friend from military duty, even though he is not sure he can recall him. When a bad smell from the sea permeates the city and their building, Selim sets out to explore the possibilities of a new world with the help of Cihan and his friends.
The film strides through the streets of many districts İzmir, from from Alsancak to Karşıyaka, from Göztepe to Çiğli, from Bayraklı to Kadifekale, telling the story of Selim’s return from İstanbul along with him on the streets of İzmir.
