About the Film

Seven-year-old Nora and her big brother Abel are back to school. When Nora witnesses Abel being bullied by other kids, she rushes to protect him by warning their father. But Abel forces her to remain silent. Caught in a conflict of loyalty, Nora will ultimately try to find her place, torn between children’s and adult’s worlds.

In her directorial debut that was Belgium’s nominee for the Academy Awards, Laura Wandel follows her character Nova at the eye level, equalizing her with the audience. Progressing through Nora’s changes of attitude in the face of peer bullying takes the audience back to school years and prompts them to confront the bases of decisions regarding power, justice and ethics.
