A documentary film director with television experience, Zekiye Kaçak Bakırhan studied journalism at the İstanbul University Faculty of Communication. She completed the International Press Institute Association’s Investigative Journalism Training Program at Boğaziçi University. She worked at NTV for many years as reporter, editor and producer. Two of her news features for the Ve İnsan program on NTV won awards from the Turkish Journalists’ Association in 2006 and 2007. After NTV, she worked as a documentary production director at Al Jazeera Türk. She produced feature and serial investigative documentaries that tell the stories of people marginalized by power for the People and Power series on Al Jazeera TV.
