Micaela Gonzalo was born in 1987 in Buenos Aires to a working class family. She went to film school at Cine y Artes Audiovisuales (CIEVYC) and at the Argentine Film Industry Syndicate (SICA). During these years, she made several short films. The script for The New Girl, co-written with Lucía Tebaldi, won various awards and funding during the development stage. Finished in 2021, the film participated in the Toulouse Latin America Film Festival’s official competition and won the Grand Prix Coup de Coeur in the feature film competition. Gonzalo is currently working in cinema and television as an independent director.
