Born in 1984 in Samsun, Pınar Göktaş trained in acting and stage performance at Pera Güzel Sanatlar and Akademi Kenter while studying at the İstanbul Technical University Department of Civil Engineering. Making her professional start in acting in 2005, she earned her master’s degree at the Haliç University Conservatory Department of Theater. After acting in several television, film and theater productions, she started the private theater The Club in 2010, where she was the executive producer for six plays. She staged the physical theater play Ofis, which depicts the suffocating life of the white-collar middle class through rhythm and body movement. She staged the comedy-drama play Kelebek, co-written with Cihan Sağlam, which examines how patriarchy affects men. Lindy Hop Etkisi, which she wrote and directed, won the Best Cinematography Award at the 2018 Sinema Dans Ankara Festival. She played the leading role with Ekin Koç in the Eşitlik episode of BluTV’s 7Yüz mini series. She participated in Çiçek Kahraman’s editing workshop at Salt Galata, and attended Gülengül Altıntaş’s lectures on Turkish Cinema and Advanced Screenwriting lectures at Kadir Has University as a guest student. She acts in her autobiographical stand-up show Öyle Şeyler Yalnızca Filmlerde Olur, which she is currently working on adapting as a script.
